Here are the Top dogs as reported By Mrs. Elizabeth Dow for the UKC Shows for 2005

Congratulations to all who competed.

The United Kennel Club has announced the top dogs in each breed for
the year 2005.  For the first time ever, the Portuguese Pointer is
on this list.  The dogs are:

#1  CH Whipporwill's Hocus Pocus (Carlos) owned by Elizabeth Dow and
bred by Susan Corrone.

#2  TAN CH Rena de Torres, owned by Temple DaSilva and bred by Dr.
Jorge Rodrigues

#3  TAN CH Vera Do Solar Do Jamor, owned by Elizabeth Dow & Geoffrey
James and bred by Vitor Mauricio and Jeronimo Mauricio

These three Portuguese Pointers have been invited to participate in
the "Top Dog Competition" at the United Kennel Club Premier show in
Kalamazoo, Michigan in June.  Entry in this event is by invitation
only.  Each of these dogs has also received a "Certificate of Honor"
from the UKC.

It is heartening to see the progress the Portuguese Pointer is
making in America.
